About the Mind Your Mouth Campaign
It’s true. The health of your mouth has a significant impact on the health of your body. That’s why the Washington Dental Service Foundation has launched the Mind Your Mouth Campaign.
The campaign is aimed at educating people about oral health issues like gum disease, tooth decay and dry mouth, which can lead to serious chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and pneumonia. In fact, if you have chronic gum disease, you’re almost twice as likely to suffer from heart disease as someone with healthy gums. And if you have diabetes, the health of your mouth can make a significant difference in how you manage and live with the disease.
